STUNNING! I have never seen this bird in person. I can imagine it must feel magical. Your picture of the bird on the cactus with the map behind is ingenious.
I have never seen one of these, as they are not really common in Connecticut ;-), but he looks an awful lot like the chickadee on my back yard feeder, only instead of a white breast, he has red. What a lovely collage.
Wonderful little bird, what a splash of colour! and I think our robin is delightful when he comes to call, I would sit entranced watching this little birdy! Love the artwork you have produced too, Thanks Geninne!
I was honored by a small group of these lovely jewels taking a break in one of my trees. I was so excited! Even the name of these stunning birds is nice and so appropriate. They truly are vermillion! Something I find interesting about these birds is that during courtship the male delivers a butterfly or other ornate insect to a female as enticement for mating. It is the bird version of flowers and chocolates : )
qué hermoso animal!! la verdad es que se presta para ser pintado... eres afortunada por tener un visitante tan inspirador!disfrútalo mucho. y gracias por compartirlo!
Are you kidding me?????? Oh, what I wouldn't give for just one visit from your wee red friend....Beyond lucky! Thanks so much for sharing. Not likely to see one in Washington state!
So gorgeous! I have been gathering lots of colorful free bird images lately from the internet and using them to make cards. This is just such an inspiration to see. Lucky you!
Hi, I'm mainly a lurker here on your blog, but I just had to comment after seeing your beautiful photos and painting of one of my favorite birds! We don't have them here in the southeastern US, but I have seen them when visiting in southern Arizona. I love your blog and find it so inspirational! Thank you for being here!
