Manolo finally finished installing the beautiful shelves he designed
for the living room's concrete wall. His talent just blows me away.
Love the combination of concrete, wood and stainless steel.
I can't believe we've been living here for a whole year already,
it seems like we moved in yesterday.
These are so clean and shiny! What is this cute collection of colorful books to the left of the "Ando" and "Casa" books? Very beautiful!
You are such a talented family. I almost can't believe it :)!
So Beautiful Geninne. I really admire all you do. Your hubby did a great job mounting them. I cannot imagine how they stay on the wall like that.
Everything in your house is so nice.

Felicidades por las perciosas estanterías.. parecen estar suspendidas enel aire! y qué ganas de hojear los libros... Un abrazo!
Absolutely beautiful!
I need these shelves and/or a Manolo!
So nice!
I bet every inch of your home is gorgeous!
Bravo for Manolo...! Pero lo que mas me gusta Genine, es el libro de Mafalda en una de las estanterias!!! ;)

Beautiful! WOW how talented is he!!! They look amazing! You are one lucky duck :)
I love the chunky sturdiness and the deep colour of the wood here. You've really made a feature out of them! Gorgeous.

Yes everything in your house is inspirational and exceptional. So glad to see you have an Australian book on your shelf; the one by Shaun Tan. He's clever isn't he? Hope you and your children enjoy his work :)
Bellisimo! Yo tambien note el libro de Shaun Tan, nada mas y nada menos que junto a Mafalda :) Good stuff!
So beautiful and functional. They look like they're floating. Love to see Mafalda and Shaun Tan together. :) I picked up Lost and Found by Shaun Tan the other day, and just love getting lost in the gorgeous art.
Halina, I believe those are Penguin Hardcover Classics with the covers designed by Coralie Bickford-Smith. In October they will also sell Penguin Threads with copies of covers embroidered by Jillian Tamaki. *swoon*
The shelves are very beautiful. I would love to know how he mounted them--metal rods or wood slots (not sure if I have the carpentry terms right)? As for the shelf arrangements, I love those every now and then hits of beautiful turquoise (also on your pillows!).
These are gorgeous! Always an inspiration.
your house is so beautiful! can we get a tour in pictures?

Nice! Really nice!
Toda Mafalda!
I like these concrete walls in your house.
Good for the combination with natural materials.
Especially wood is a nice contrast.
They float so beautifully on the wall! Very nice. = )
Stunning Geninne! You both blow me away! No wonder your boys are so talented!
what a beautifull pair of shelves!
I always love shots of your home. It looks so peacefull and creative.
They're gorgeous! They look super modern and homey at the same time!
Perfect for the space. That is one talented husband!
Truly beautiful. Must be so lovely to have such a talented family! My kids are always inspired by you son's drawing as well. Thanks for sharing ^_^.
Your home is absolutely incredible in every way.
Such wonderful clean lines, so organic in nature...I love that!!! So inspiring!!!
I agree, what a very talented and creative family!
Please keep sharing pictures of your home, they are truly so inspiring!!!
Are those solid wood? It seems it would be so heavy, and yet he has made them look weightless on the wall. Well done Manolo.
books and bookshelves, I love them!
These are amazing. I write for Apartment Therapy Ohdeedoh and would love to share them with our readers if that's okay with you.
Please email me katie(at)apartmenttherapy.com if I could please please have your permission!

Just saw these on Apartment Therapy and I'm in love with them! Would love to hear more details about how to do them!
Geninne,
I hope this is your "forever" home. I love how Manolo made these "floating" shelves. They look like they have always been there. Hugs to you and yours, Sherry
cool...very cool bookshelves...
i saw your bookshelves via apartment therapy, and would love a tutorial on how they were made and secured to the wall. you can email me bdotsgyrl(at)gmail.com
Wow! It looks so organised and well created. I bet you would have spent a hell lot of time creating that.
These are so beautiful! I've been trying to track down a tutorial as to how your husband installed them?
Can you tell me where he purchased the white metal plates (?) on either side, I cant seem to find anything like them!
Look forward to hearing from you! brookekaylor(at)gmail.com
