Well, I finally finished it! It took me longer than usual because the paper
was really difficult to work with. It was too absorbent and it needed a LOT
of paint & patience, but I'm really happy with how it turned out.

I hope my little sister Kiki likes it, because I made it for her :)

She lived in Mexico for many, many years and I think she'll love the fact
that the beautiful paper was handmade here. She lives in the Canary Islands now.
♥ Te quiero hermanita, ojalá te guste mucho en persona.
Bet she is going to LOVE it!!

I shared yesterday's post with your beautiful work in progress with my daughter via email. As an aspiring (amateur) artist, she'd like to know what kind of paints you used on this piece?
I LOVE your work (it's kind of funny, I started to follow Turbo's blog first, then found my way to yours and have been captured by the beauty ever since:)

Beautiful, Geninne! You can tell it was a labor of love. The paper adds such beautiful texture to your lovely artwork!
She is going to love it, it looks so beautiful.
Oh Geninne...you are such a wonderful artist. This piece is so very special. I love the way you painted the roots. I could see some tiny lines around the root ball and wondered how you were going to do that. The white really sets the plant off beautifully. You have one lucky sister. I wish i were a sibling too:).

She's a lucky lady! It's beautiful.

Simply gorgeous! Nice to see the close up shots of the wonderfully colored/detailed birds..
Geninne,
What a beautiful painting. Painting on hand-made paper is not as easy as painting on other kinds of paper. So, I can imagine how carefully you painted this lovely creation.
I have often thought that your gorgeous designs would make lovely fabrics. Have you ever peeked at Spoonflower.com I design fabric on there, and it is such a fun thing to see your creations come to life on fabric.
Have a lovely weekend.
Karen

Really awesome.
By the way, I read you from Canary Islands, surely the Internet has made the world a little smaller.
Love it! what color did you use for the trunk? and, are the lines on the flower the original pencil marks or did you draw them afterward? I love, love, love the paper. Your sister will love it.
