It's great seeing the progress on this one - I love the colours you've chosen, and the flowers look incredible! I look forward to the the next stage! :)
WOW I want it painted on my living room wall!!!!! I enjoy your work-in-progress each time, You are amazing! :) LOVE IT ciao ciao Lalla PS: yesterday we found a caterpillar of an Old World Swallowtail (Butterfly), I have a picture on my blog. It could be something you could draw ;)
I live far far away in the Himalayan foothills in the North of India and I'm an interpreter and translator from Tibetan into English at the Library of Tibetan Works and Archives. Broadband is relatively recent here. I feel so lucky to have found your beautiful work. I've looked at all your posts from 2005 and love the way your work has changed and developed. It inspires me to revive the great passion I had for painting and drawing when I was very young - a passion that has lain dormant for decades while I've done very different things. Thank you, dear Geninne for sharing what you do so generously!
Maybe this might sound a bit odd to you and your viewers, but what caught my eye and I keep going back to is the root ball of the tree. That detail for me grounds the tree as important as the birds and the butterfly. Carolina
Geninne, this is turning out magnificently, unfolding right before our eyes. I love the contrasts within this piece...textured transparent layers of the ground juxtaposed with the milky opacity of the blooms and the cool brightness of the birds and butterfly...delicacy and strength...earthy and feminine...
oh geez louise...it's MAGnificent. you inspire me (am i repeating myself?) :)
i tend to RUSH through my paintings...and you are teaching me that they turn out much better (and i imagine the process is more enjoyable) if you take it a piece at a time. water needs time to dry, no?
