Adenium Arabicum
I busted out my old Prismacolor pencils today to do a little drawing of a plant featured in an article called "Desert Beauties" in the October issue of Martha Stewart Living magazine. I immediately fell in love with it. I must find out more about this caudiciform and be on the lookout for one to add to my collection.
And maybe make a hand carved stamp too.

I´ve just discovered your work... and I must say WOW
I had one of those plants but didn't have luck keeping it alive. The common name that I know for it is desert rose.
I love those -- the article says they're easy to come by but I've only ever seen them in a succulent nursery in Berkeley and they're a little pricey for me.

[beware: their gallery of available plants is an outstanding way to kill a couple hours]
Beautiful drawing, will you be selling a print?
Your art is always so breathtakingly beautiful. I always come away inspired when I visit yor blog.
Lovely, as always. What an unusual plant -- right out of a Dr. Seuss book! Good luck on your quest...
It's kind of alien-looking, isn't it... Very cool!
I just wanted to say thank you for your tutorials and inspiration. I carved my first (first worth keeping that is) stamp this weekend. It wasn't difficult and I love it. Thank you!
beautiful!
very nice, simple and elegant.
¡Qué curioso bulbo, y qué flores más hermosas y delicadas tiene!
¿Y dices que crece en los desiertos? Es increíble...
Love prismacolours. Love how you with such easyness can turn a photo into a drawing. You are blessed with talent.
I've got one of these, or almost (the classification is complicated, see the wikipedia page!)http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adenium In South Africa where I live we call them impala lilies. Mine grows beautifully in a pot in the hottest, sunniest, most dreadfully heat-trap-like corner of the patio. I hope you get one; the flowers are like nothing else!
that is so very pretty an unusual. i love the plant AND your drawing :)
What a funny plant:) it's lovely!
I love this one!
Lovely pencil work! I was listening to BBC Radio 4 today and there was an article on an English lady, Marianne North, a botanical artist in Victorian times. I thought of your work and wondered if you might be interested in her style. I looked up Kew Gardens London site about her gallery: http://www.kew.org/mng/gallery/356.html
Hope its of use to you!
guau! que planta más bonita ... yo también voy a tratar de conseguir una ...
I go to your blog multiple times a day. As a fifteen year old who is deeply interested in art, your blog is like soul food.
