I found these beautiful hardcover recycled paper sketchbooks yesterday at a big art supply shop the city. They're called Cachet Earthbound by Daler◆Rawney
This old postcard I painted a few months ago served as inspiration for the coral reef drawing I made on the cover.
I plan to color it with watercolors this afternoon.
Can I ask you something? I noticed that your blog has a new template - it's really gorgeous with those beautiful photos. Can I ask you how have you changed it?
What a great idea to decorate the cover! Love it... and I love the painted postcards. Do you paint directly on them, or Photoshop the images onto them? Thanks!
I love these sketch books, they are exactly what I have been searching for and we get Daler Rowney in Australia, so I can get my art supply shop to order them in for me, hooray. The drawing you have done is just beautiful, I can’t wait to see it coloured. I have been brewing plans for painting on sketch book covers for a while now, but hadn’t been able to find the right books. I found some recently at a thrift shop, but the cover is corrugated so I couldn’t use them the way I wanted, so I embellished them with vintage buttons. I blogged about it here http://createdbykylie.blogspot.com/2009/09/buttons-buttons-buttons.html on my very new blog. Thanks for pointing me in the direction of the sketch books I have been wanting and for your blog which is one of the lovely arty blogs that has inspired me to get started on a blogging adventure of my own.
Gorgeous! As usual it's gonna be Fantastic!

I love this brown speckled paper. I found a link to buy this sketchbook here:

Do you have a source for loose paper that has that earthy look?
Thanks,
Cindy
