I sent you an email about getting that new bird print blown up a bit as a special order, but I don't know if you received it or not. I am hoping that you read these comments so you can get back to me!! Me email is firstname.lastname@example.org I just wanted to order the print with the two birds in the colourful garden, both are blue and one is flying through the flowers! It is so beautiful and I was wondering if I could special order the print a little bigger, like say the size of one of you abc bird posters...please let me know, I would really appreciate it! Thanks, Julia in Vancouver
Oh my, what a special treat this post is! My husband and I spent 3 months exploring in San Miguel, I took classes at the Instituto Allende and we lived in an apartment on Recreo. (Then we backpacked through the southern part of Mexico for a month.)
Your post/photos brought me back to that wonderful adventure and special time in my life. Thank you!
I am new to your blog. I made my way here via Soule Mama. You make absolutely beautiful artwork. I will be back to visit often.
Oh, and I was curious if your title is in reference to the Jack Kerouac book "On the Road". I have heard he used to hang out in San Miguel at La Cucaracha (a bar) and that the "real" person that the character Dean was based off died on the railroad tracks just outside of San Miguel. Maybe it's all rumor.
I've been following your art blog for a little while...then I found out you too live in Mexico (I'm in San Miguel). Then you introduced the new BC pup. As it happens my dad use to be the president of the National Border Collie Assoc. of America and he and my mom will be moving to SMA in the next month or so (just mention it in case you're in need of any training tips).
Anyway, when you mentioned that you had just visit our little town, I just wanted to introduce myself. You may read more about what I do in San Miguel on my site: www.textileartistmx.com.
Geninne - what a treat to see your pics and hear about your trip. I was just talking to my family and trying to convince them to visit SMA - I've wanted to go for ages (we're in the US near DC). More details, please!
how beautiful, i especially love the 2nd and 3rd photos you have posted of the building with arches and the foliage. i have heard guanajuato is amazing. did you feel safe there? (i have to ask, living in El Paso and being aware of the unbelievable violence on the border in Juarez).
i am very impressed by your tiny book. very cool. you continue to inspire me. love the beautiful colors.
please consider entering my scrap giveaway, i am trying to raise awareness of the Art Now For Autism auction. there are details at my blog. thanks!!
Hi Geninne, Thanks for the trip down memory lane. My family and I spent the summer between my high school graduation and first year of college in San Miguel (1970!!) I took classical guitar at the Instituto. I just love that town.... fondly, Tece
