I love this stage, with just a couple of colors in.
Sometimes I'm just tempted to leave it like that.
But then I just go for it.
And Voila! It will be available as a large print in my shop next week. I'm thinking of printing it on Amate paper, I need to make some tests this weekend. I'll be back Sunday to celebrate my Dad :)
This is beautiful! I am a huge admirer of your work. I love everything you do. Could you tell me how you get such sharp edges on your work. When I paint I feel like my edges are always soft and it annoys me. Would love to hear how you do it.
Thank you for sharing the pictures of the work in progress. Watching over your shoulder as you work, as it were, and seeing how you make such lovely things is as much a treat as your finished pieces. Bless.
i am a new reader...and actually spent the past two hours reading everything since Dec. 2005. i am sure you have seen how your work has progressed through the years...it is impressive.
I love the painting...and I agree I think the first stages are great too. If you left the colors and just finished the peacocks in black ink... I think that would look equally as amazing.
Hi Geninne. I am so inspired by your work. Our styles are pretty similar and I am incorporating more white outlines into my work. I am so curious what you do...is it acrylic over your watercolors, colored pencil...? Also do you use masking medium? Your lines always look so crisp!

Well here I am~ a day late and a dollar short. I just found you. I feel like I hit the jackpot. What beautiful work. I too would like to see the process of one of your paintings. You mentioned water colors and acrylics. What type of paper? What do you draw your working pic with? Pencil? And how do you get the white on the ends of the feathers? eeeeek..sorry, I'm just so impressed and loving it. Are your flowers layered with watercolor? Oh, I hope you'll be able to answer. Thank you so much. xos, janet
