Songbird stamp
Here's little Songbird (4x4 inches)in a different medium.
This time I hand carved him into a stamp.
I used a Staedtler Mastercarve carving block
& my Speedball linoleum cutters.
There is a great tutorial online
on how to carve your own stamps right here, if you're interested.
You can also take a look at my growing collection of hand carved stamps

Wow! I just discovered your blog a few days ago and was wondering how you created your beautiful stamps. Thanks for posting a little bit about that!

Gracias Geninne!!! como siempre, una fuente de inspiraciòn total ;)
Love your birdies! Isn't carving a relaxing way to spend part of an afternoon?
your bird designs look beautiful as stamps. I would love a stationary set made from them.
And thanks for sharing how to make stamps...Ive always wondered how to make them!
I love your blog and your hand carved stamps! Thanks for the link to the carving blocks. :)
i will probably do this with the boys this winter .. we always carved rubber erasers at school -- not as nice a final product! i think they're old enough to handle the sharp cutting tool. (for carving erasers, we used pencils with their erasers popped out, and the metal bent slightly.)
i love using stamps to embellish letters, and writing letters is an important part of our homeschooling day! :^)
